Taylor Ridge Dairy Goats
Taylor Ridge Farms
Thank you for your interest in our herd! The herd started as a family project in 2000 when we purchased our first Toggenburg does. Since then, the farm has had many breeds graze its pastures in north central Illinois including Lamanchas, Oberhaslis, Recorded Grades, Saanens, and Sables. As the herd continued to grow, it evolved to where it is today consisting of Records Grades, Sables and of course Toggenburgs.

The herd has many ups and downs during 20 year long project, however we have always continued to breed goats for their confirmation and milk. The herd shows on a national, state and local level across the Midwest. The herd continues to flourish including many champions at the midwest State Fairs, 1st place animals at the ADGA National Show, and a lot of success at local fairs and club shows.

In 2022, the herd along with our family evolved with Katherine managing the Toggenburgs at a different location with her husband Cameron. The Toggenburgs reside now in Southern Wisconsin under the management of Katherine, while the Sables and Recorded Grades still remain in north central IL under the management of Rebecca and Christine.
In 2024, the herd plans to freshen around 25 does. Please check out our "2024 Breeding List" for specific breedings.

SALES POLICY

Taylor Ridge Farms reserves the right to retain any doe or buck for their breeding operation. All buck kid reservations require a $100 non-refundable deposit. That deposit can be transferred from year to year and from breeding to breeding. All buck kids sold will be sold as registered, transferred into your ADGA name, DNA- typed, and with the right to name the buck kid. We reserve the right to acquire 10 straws of semen at cost of collection.
We will NOT accept reservations for doe kids or mature milkers. If interested in a doe kid or milker, please reach out via email or Facebook message to be added to our list for animals in the spring. In the spring, we will work on a first come, first serve basis down said list for interest in animals. After contact, a $100 deposit is required. We will try to accommodate any requests for doe kids, however we do reserve the right to retain any animals for our breeding program.
After a kid or milker is agreed upon by both the buyer and the seller, the buyer will have 30 days to pick up the animal, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties. After 30 days, a $10 boarding fee per week will be assessed starting on day 31 after the agreement is made. We encourage pick up on the farm in person to see related animals. We have an extensive network of routes to transport on for a fee. We do have the ability to air ship out of Chicago O’Hare and a fee will be assessed for drop off to the airport. When working with ground transport, please note if we have to meet the transporter in any place not within a 10 mile radius of the house we will be charging mileage to the buyer at .58 cents a mile. All shippers will be charged $50 for a health certificate.

All kids born on the farm are raised on a CAE prevention program and are pan raised. We will be happy to test all mature animals for CAE/ JOHNES/ CL at the buyers expense if purchasing a mature animal. WE WILL NOT REPLACE AN ANIMAL AFTER IT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO ANOTHER HERD AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME AND LATER TESTS POSITIVE.
